25 years too late: Canada deports convicted terrorist.

The federal government announced today that it has deported a convicted Palestinian terrorist, Ottawa citizen reports. It took Canada 25 years to execute this deportation.
Mahmoud Mohammad Issa Mohammad entered Canada in 1987. He was found to be ineligible to claim refugee status because he had been a member of the Popular Front of the Liberation of Palestine. According to the federal government, it has been trying since 1988 to deport Mohammad.
Immigration Minister Jason Kenney noted that the story of Mr. Mohammad is “a cautionary tale” highlighting the need to reform Canada`s immigration system.
