Speak French? Come and work in Ontario!

by Jenny Rokhline

Or any other English speaking province in Canada for that matter. Canadian government is interested in ensuring prosperity and vitality of francophone communities outside of Quebec. The Francophone Significant Benefit Program allows potential immigrants obtain work visas without ever applying for LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment). SURPRISED? We were too!

It is for Francophones working in a managerial, professional, technical or skilled trades job (Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC)) in a province or territory outside Quebec. You can get a work permit for up to two years, and it is renewable.

If you hold a job offer from a Canadian employer and speak French, you can get more information by contacting Canadian visa office in Paris at parisdestinationcanada@international.gc.ca
